Wednesday 29 November May Boeve and a group of university students, with the help of author and activist Bill McKibben, co-founded 350.org in the US in 2008 when she was in her 20s. Since then, May has helped build one of the most effective climate change organisations in the world with a network of 120 activists working across 188 countries. She is co-author of Fight Global Warming Now and in 2016 was named one of Time magazine’s New Generation Leaders.
George Monbiot is the author of the bestselling books Feral: Rewilding the land, sea and human life; The Age of Consent: A Manifesto for a New World Order; Captive State: The Corporate Takeover of Britain; the investigative travel books Poisoned Arrows, Amazon Watershed and No Man’s Land. His latest book is Out of the Wreckage: a New Politics for an Age of Crisis.
Co-founder of RenewEconomy, Giles Parkinson is a journalist of 30 years experience, a former business editor and Deputy Editor of the Financial Review, a columnist for The Bulletin magazine and The Australian, and the former editor of Climate Spectator.
