Which is why we’re convening an ONLINE CITIZEN ASSEMBLY, the first of its kind in Australia, and the first of many.
The focus will be on the Coalition’s plan to establish 7 nuclear power plants in Australia. The issues raised are many and far-reaching: energy security, cost of electricity, climate change, waste management, health & safety, jobs, nuclear proliferation, community engagement, and more.
All these issues bring strikingly different interests and perspectives to the table. They will all be part of the conversation we need to have.
First, we’ll meet in small groups of 10 (we expect between 50 and 100 such groups) and a few days later reassemble in a plenary session. For this we’ll use the best that technology can offer.
You can join a small group on one of these 3 dates:
Wednesday 23 April 7.30 pm Thursday 24 April 7.30 pm Saturday 26 April 10.00 am
We’ll all then join the plenary session on Tuesday 29 April, 7.30 pm – four days prior to the election.

And to whet your appetite, fill in this 3-minute survey here. Full project details here.
Exciting days ahead. A unique experience of democracy at work. All Australians invited.
